SAVING SEATTLE

Digital Design for Social Good Case Study (2023)

🧠 CHALLENGE: Saving Seattle was conceived as a digital tool to help people more easily discover and engage with local community service opportunities. The challenge was designing a system that could support multiple user needs (volunteers, students, and partner organizations) while remaining approachable, intuitive, and motivating to use. The product needed to reduce friction around participation, clarify pathways to involvement, and scale across both mobile and web platforms without overwhelming users.

✍️ SOLUTION:  I designed a unified product experience consisting of a dedicated mobile app and a complementary responsive website, structured around clear user journeys and accessibility-first principles. The experience prioritized location-based discovery, simplified navigation, and clear calls to action to help users quickly find opportunities aligned with their interests and availability. The visual and interaction design balanced clarity with warmth, reinforcing trust while encouraging engagement with community-driven causes. By designing consistent systems across platforms and thoughtfully organizing content hierarchy, the final concept demonstrated how intentional UX strategy and product thinking can support meaningful real-world action at scale.
