QUEEN CITY BELLTOWN
BRAND + IDENTITY SYSTEM (2025)
🧠 CHALLENGE: With new ownership and a refreshed menu, Queen City required a full brand overhaul that respected its 1910 heritage while supporting a more refined dining experience. Long-time locals associated the restaurant with historic charm, while the new direction required a clearer, more functional identity capable of performing across menus, print, and digital touch points.
✍️ SOLUTION: I grounded the rebrand in Queen City’s history through research into archival photography, vintage menus, and architectural details from the space itself. This informed a visual language that preserved familiarity while allowing the brand to evolve. I then developed a cohesive identity system - including logo, color palette, and typographic hierarchy designed to balance nostalgia with clarity, scalability, and modern usability.story.
🎯 OUTCOME:
-
Strong immediate response to the refreshed brand at reopening
-
Increased inbound interest for events and reservations
-
A visual system robust enough to support rapid growth and expanded marketing needs
-
Successful handoff to a larger creative team as demand exceeded the capacity of a single designer
Note: The live site may vary from the designs shown due to post-launch updates and ongoing maintenance.
